Policies and Procedures

Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Any registrations received after the deadline will be allowed only if needed to fill teams. Late registrations will then be put on a waiting list until there is enough to add one to each team in that division. We will apply late fees to all late sign ups if openings remain.

When USD #466 cancels school due to inclement weather, all SRC practices and activities will be cancelled for that day.

To insure our children's safety, SRC will conduct background checks on all volunteer coaches.

SRC's Coach's Policy

Code of Conduct

For Parents, Participants and Spectators

A Positive Environment

The Scott Recreation Commission strives to provide an environment free of negativity and criticism and one that allows youth the opportunity for personal growth and development. We encourage parents and spectators to cheer for their children. Please refrain from making negative and disparaging remarks about coaches, officials, and opponents. Parents should be a model of the behavior that they expect from their children.

Parents, participants, and spectators will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct with any official, coach, player, or parents such as booing and taunting, refusing to shake hands, or using profane language or gestures.

Respect Coaches and Officials

Allow the official to officiate and the coach to coach. Everyone has the same opportunity to volunteer to coach or become an SRC official. Do not abuse those who are willing to give their time to the youth. Vocal dissent with the official or a coach's decisions are not allowed. Please recognize that the officials are being developed in the same manner as the players.

Parents, participants and spectators are subject to disciplinary action that includes:

*1st offense - Verbal warning
*2nd offense - Removal from game
*3rd offense - Removal for remainder of the league. Review by the SRC Board for reinstatement.

*Any physical contact or abuse will result in immediate dismissal from the program and suspended from any Scott Recreation Commission program for up to one year.

Youth Sports Program Policies

Late Registrations

A $10/child late fee is incurred for all late registrations. Late registrations are accepted until teams are full, at which time they will be put on a waiting list. Waiting list applicants are not guaranteed placement. Late registration sign-ups may not request to be placed on a specific team.

Age & Grade Divisions

Teams in the 1st & 2nd grade divisions and the 5-8 year-old divisions will be selected by the SRC. All other divisions will be selected by the coaches using a "blind pick" method. All youth must play in the appropriate age or grade division. Requests to be moved to another division will not be granted.

Coaches

Coaches will contact youth concerning practice and game schedules.

Requests for three coaches to coach a team together will not be allowed unless one of the coaches does not have a child participating in the program.

Requests for youth to be placed on the same team as a friend or with a specific coach will be considered, but not guaranteed.

Our goal is to provide the opportunity for participating to all who enter, regardless of skill or ability level. We wish to provide youth with a fun learning experience and the opportunity to develop lifetime leisure skills.
